A hand made book
My wife and I like to walk through model homes too look at the design choices and solutions professional designers make for these big ticket items.
This weekend, on the desk of a model office was this large format, hand bound book.
You can get the scale by looking at the standard desk blotter it's sitting on.
A blank book, it was filled with handmade paper. I shudder to think what the original cost of the paper was. And I really wonder about the binder and the path this book took to arrive in this place as a bit of fantasy narrative for prospective home buyers.
Citizen publishing
The other item was an Oct 11, 2016 piece on The Negro Motorist's Green-Book. Essentially, this is the Forbes guide for African Americans to help with travel inside thier own country without being humiliated, threatened, beaten, or killed.
I always like to link the most foundational source, but here's the NBC article too.
