Germán has ordered 4 boxes for his Cuba 1988 photos. The 5th box is a prototype to verify all the design details.
The boxes have to be ready for Codex 2013 so time is tight. I cut these late last night to get a jump on things.
There are three parts involved in the magnetic closure of a rail box. These are the parts for the case. I'll cut the rails later today. There's quite a few steps to make them.
1/2" disc magnets are being epoxied into the middle flap of the rail boxes. Once this is dry and sanded I can cover the case and double check the dimensions for the rails.
I emailed Germán this morning to get things moving on the title so I can order the die. I don't see a foil color in my notes but black is the way to go on this one I think.
Magnetic closure flaps for a rail box, ready for sanding
I've rough cut two rails for the prototype. I'm going to have to get the case moved forward a bit so I can dial in the precise dimensions for these.

I'm still waiting for a final opinion from Germán about the weight of the front-matter board for this project. But the boxes themselves are drying after final assembly. So, that deadline for Codex is satisfied.
