This material is not the traditional, paper back book cloth used in many of my bindings. I could go through the process of backing it myself. But in this application and with this cloth there is no need.
I will have to employ a different technique with my adhesives, but this particular material should perform in a pretty normal way.
The key characteristic that make a cloth suitable of use un-backed is a nice tight weave that can hold out the adhesive. Glue penetrating through the cloth will almost invariably ruin the look of the work.
This weave is pretty good though the threads are fairly soft and open. But the outside has been coated with some thin black coating that completely seals the surface. So no worries!
